He'd found his courage late in his life
shot in back of the head by his wife
She'd been beautiful
comfortable with her greed
she had married young with avarice
her love was not for him
and he knew she'd never be the same
His eyes were made of stone
Wilson led the hunt
she had her fun silently
then back to her husband's bed
and he knew she'd never be the same

The Lion charged with hate
for the men that fought his life
Francis fled in cowardice
as Wilson calmly killed
he knew he'd never be the same
Francis woke up changed
His fear had lost it's hold
He had found a bit of bravery
for the first time in his life
and he knew he'd never be the same
he knew he'd never be the same
when he stood his ground
All he ever knew was a flash in his head
sure he'd seen the last they left him for dead
but what happened next is not the point, the story had an end
Francis Macomber lived life for a moment, a moment more than most my friend
